The Association’s objective is to conduct non-profit humanitarian development work and provide financial aid in Sweden and internationally on religiously and politically independent grounds.
Why do we process your personal data?
In order for the Association to conduct its operations, personal data is processed for different purposes related to association activities.
The Association processes personal data to administer continuous association activities (e.g. member meetings), communicating with members (summons to activities and information, etc.), managing member-related financial transactions (member’s fees etc.), as well as administration of employees and elected representatives.
The Association also processes personal data as part of the application process for public contributions for aid.

Who do we share personal data with?
The data will not be transferred to a third party and your personal data will not be subject to any automated decision-making.
On the rare occasion that the Association must share your personal data with a third party due to extraordinary circumstances, you will specifically be informed about this. This might occur when/if you are registered to travel to a third country.

For how long do we store your personal data?
SWEDO will annually assess whether the purpose of the processing of personal data is still applicable. If the purpose of the processing of personal data is no longer applicable, the data will be erased.
What are your rights?
As a registered member of SWEDO, you have several rights that you should be aware of.
You have the right to obtain a register extract regarding SWEDO’s processing of your personal data. Upon request for a register extract, the Association shall
provide you with a copy of the personal data being processed. The Association may charge you a reasonable fee based on administrative expenses should you request any additional copies.
You have the right to have your personal data corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading, and you have the right to limit the processing of the personal data until it has been corrected.
Under certain circumstances, you have the right of erasure:
- If the data is no longer needed for the purposes for which they were collected
- If the processing is based on the individual’s consent and you withdraw your consent
- If the processing is done for direct marketing purposes and you object to the fact that the data is being processed
- If you object to the processing of personal data within the scope of exercise of public authority or in accordance with legitimate interests, and there being no justifiable reasons that carry more weight than your interests
- If the personal data is being processed illegally
- If erasure is required to fulfil a legal obligation
- If the personal data refers to children and have been collected as part of the children creating a profile on a social network
You also have the right to withdraw you consent, object to automated decision-making, profiling and object to direct marketing.
You can exercise your rights at any time by requesting access to and rectification or erasure of personal data, request limitations to the processing or object to processing. Contact the board to exercise your rights.
