Through its sustainable strategies, one of SWEDO’s objectives is the development of its staff skills and the adaptation of high-standard systems.
At SWEDO, we know that by raising the bar of efficient implementation and standards of service delivery we maintain our competency, in the field and offices, and all of the program and operations units and departments at SWEDO.
In the last 17 months, Over 3,100 training were undertaken by staff, varying from general and informative to technical and internationally certified training, and through worldwide acknowledged online platforms, educational institutions, and UN partner organisations, such as UNHCR, WHO, Harvard Business School, Mohammed Ben Rashid University of Medicine and Health, PHAP, RedR UK, Humentum, CCHN- Centre of Competence on Humanitarian Negotiation, DisasterReady, PHAP-Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection, and many more.
Staff within their units receive detailed training on their expertise and field of work, in addition to that, training undertaken by staff include, anti-fraud and anti-corruption, security, health and safety, GBV, Project Management, Data and Information Management, soft skills, Finance, and Procurement, Communications, Risk Management, Leadership, etc.
SWEDO separately plans for training on Prevention against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, those are held quarterly, and with refresher sessions held monthly. It is worth mentioning that SWEDO applies this training to personnel from third-party contractors that are present in our offices.
SWEDO has yearly training plans for all personnel with targets and KPIs set for each staff member. Implementation is monitored monthly and reviewed during the quarterly staff’s Work and Development Plan.
Finally, we also have the systems, processes, policies, and guidelines in place that led SWEDO to get ISO 9001:2015 certified.
